The Whitsundays club proudly hold what locals call the best spot in town and provide a massive range of sailing activities for every level of experience.
With a huge interest in teaching the maritime art of sailing the club runs sailing courses for both children and adults. Starting with dinghy sailing courses, considered the best way to learn to sail, these lightweight, responsive craft rely on all the movements of the sailor in order to keep the boat stable and responding to the wind, exactly the skills needed if you wanted to sail a 60 foot yacht!
In addition to lessons a great way to learn to sail is by participating in a racing event as part of the crew. Every Wednesday the club has a yacht racing club that anyone can join, with over 20 vessels taking part it can be a thrilling experience that is totally free, just bring a few drinks and take part in the 'round the buoys ' race that can gain you invaluable experience as a crew member.
The club hosts some fantastic professional racing events for spectators as well with frequent regattas, fun racing, and a stop point for national competitions. As well as all this seafaring activity the Whitsunday's club house also has a fantastic restaurant, serving delicious meals overlooking the waterfront, a private mooring bay and is the perfect location for wedding and conferences.
For a warm, sociable sailing club with like minded people that have a genuine interest in sailing come to the Whitsunday's Sailing Club. Enjoy a meal with drinks on the balcony, or simply gain from the wealth of knowledge by taking a sailing course with some fantastic instructors.
