Whitsundays
The Whitsunday Marine Academy offers a carefully planned curriculum to teach from the basics to the advanced aspects of sailing.
Located in the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsundays region is the perfect place to learn the workings of a boat and set sail on sea adventures. If you wish to be a recreational sailor and enjoy cruising occasionally or would like to start a career in the Super Yacht Industry, you can take advantage of the numerous training courses offered by the Whitsunday Marine Academy.
Under recreational courses, the Whitsunday Marine Academy offers introductory and competent crew certificate (Competent Crew) courses for the beginner and training for people aiming at sailing their own yacht can gain the Flotilla Skipper/ Watch Keeper or Bareboat Skipper certificate.
Advanced qualifications from Coastal Skipper up to the Ocean certificate are also available.
Professional training is offered towards the Super Yacht Industry which includes the ‘must have’ starter courses such as the Mega Yacht Deck Crew and the Professional Super Yacht Hospitality course. However advanced training to the experienced includes Master of Yacht Coastal, Master of Yacht Limited and Master of Yacht Unlimited.
One of the biggest advantages of taking up a course with Whitsunday Sail Training is the teacher to student ratio. One instructor will not teach more than seven students at a time.
Training students to excellence in the Whitsundays region since 1992, the Whitsunday Marine Academy is one of the most pre-eminent sailing academies of its kind. Depending on the course you choose, the training can last anywhere between 3 days and 23 days.
