Description
Experience one of Sydney’s most incredible seasonal wildlife encounters on a whale watching cruise from Sydney Harbour.
Cruise beyond the harbour entrance in search of migrating humpback whales as they travel along the Pacific coast between May and November. With up to 15,000 whales passing Sydney each year, this open-water cruise offers the chance to witness unforgettable whale activity, from tail slaps and pectoral fin waves to spectacular breaches.
Enjoy expert commentary throughout the cruise as you learn more about whale migration, behaviour and the marine life found along Sydney’s coastline. Along the way, you may also spot dolphins, seals, fairy penguins, albatross and other seabirds.
Whale sightings are 95% guaranteed. In the unlikely event that no whales are sighted, you can cruise again in the same season for free, on a standby basis and confirmed 24 hours in advance, subject to availability.
Important: From 20 July to 28 August 2026, due to NSW Maritime wharf upgrades, this cruise will depart from Commissioner’s Steps.
