Description

Day 1: Darwin → Kakadu National Park (Wildlife & Aboriginal Culture) Start your adventure with an early morning pick-up from Darwin and journey toward the iconic Kakadu National Park. Cruise the stunning Corroboree Billabong, home to saltwater crocodiles and vibrant birdlife—one of the best wildlife experiences in the Top End. After lunch near the East Alligator River, explore the legendary Ubirr, famous for its ancient Aboriginal rock art. Climb to the lookout for breathtaking panoramic views over the floodplains stretching into Arnhem Land. End the day at your exclusive safari camp at Mardugal Billabong, where you’ll enjoy dinner and relax by the campfire under the stars. Day 2: Kakadu Waterfalls, 4WD & Cultural Sites Venture deep into Kakadu with an off-road 4WD journey to the spectacular Jim Jim Falls. Walk through a dramatic gorge framed by towering sandstone cliffs to reach a pristine plunge pool—perfect for a refreshing swim (conditions permitting). If access is closed, we’ll visit another one of Kakadu’s natural attractions instead: The Yurmikmik region of Southern Kakadu includes Motor Car Falls, one of the few options offering walks to waterfalls, swimming holes, and panoramic viewpoints. In the afternoon, discover the cultural significance of Burrungkuy (Nourlangie Rock), where your guide brings Dreamtime stories and ancient rock art to life. Take in sweeping views from Gunwhardewharde Lookout before visiting the Warradjan Cultural Centre for deeper insight into the region’s Traditional Owners. Return to camp for another relaxed evening by the fire. * Please note that Kakadu National Park has made the decision to close Jim Jim Falls for the 2026 dry season, so departures during this period will visit the Yurmikmik region and Motor Car Falls instead. Day 3: Waterfalls & Return to Darwin After breakfast, hike through paperbark forest to the hidden gem of Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where a crystal-clear plunge pool awaits. Continue south to Gunlom Falls, famous for its natural infinity pools and sweeping views over Kakadu—an unforgettable final swim spot. Travel back to Darwin via the historic township of Pine Creek, arriving in the late afternoon.
