Begin your day with a climb to the Barrenjoey Headland lighthouse for sweeping views over Palm Beach and Broken Bay. From May to November, this is one of Sydney's best land-based whale-watching spots, with humpbacks passing closest in June and July. Next, enjoy coffee and morning tea, with time to wander the beach where Home and Away's Summer Bay is filmed. Then, take a short ferry to a hidden stretch of shoreline, where you can see wild wallabies on the grass and thousands of blue swimmer crabs in the lagoon. Continue with a relaxed cruise around Pittwater, taking in quiet local beaches and the bushland edges of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Then, spend an hour exploring Avalon Beach, one of the most-loved beach-village towns on the coast. Take a scenic drive down the length of the beaches, with the story of each suburb and what it really means to be a local. Next, enjoy a driving tour of Manly with a full insider briefing: the best swims, the Shelly Beach snorkel, the bars and restaurants, and everything worth your own time. Walk the dramatic clifflines at North Head for one of the finest views back over the harbor and ocean. Finally, explore Manly at your own pace into the evening.
