Experience World Heritage-listed K’gari from behind the wheel on an unforgettable 2-day 4WD adventure.
Follow your experienced guide in a convoy of our iconic pink 4WDs as you explore the beaches, rainforest, freshwater lakes and famous natural attractions of the world’s largest sand island. Eligible guests can take the wheel and experience the thrill of driving a 4WD along K’gari’s beaches and sandy island tracks — no previous 4WD experience is necessary.
Swim in the crystal-clear waters of Boorangoora (Lake McKenzie), walk beneath towering trees in the Pile Valley rainforest, float down freshwater Eli Creek, discover the famous Maheno Shipwreck and experience the incredible landscapes of K’gari’s eastern beach.
At the end of a full day of exploring, leave the camping gear behind and head to our beach house accommodation on K’gari’s eastern side.
Enjoy a hot shower, freshly prepared dinner and time to relax with your fellow travellers on the spacious communal deck. Accommodation is in comfortable quad-share rooms, with bed linen provided.
As evening falls, take in the island atmosphere, experience the incredible night sky and wake the next morning with the opportunity to see sunrise over the Pacific Ocean before another day of 4WD adventure begins.
With your return ferry transfers, 4WDs, beach house accommodation, meals, National Park fees and experienced guide organised for you, this is an easy way to experience the adventure of K’gari without having to camp.

Experience driving a 4WD (optional) - No off-road driving experience is necessary; just attend the driver safety briefing on the morning of departure. (Drivers must be 21 years or over, with an open licence)
Free pick up from select hostels in Hervey Bay (Hervey's, Flashpackers, Woolshed Eco, Colonial Village Resort, Kondari) from 7:00 am OR meet at our office at 7:15 am

- * All drivers to place security bond of $2,500 or pay $50 reduce the excess to $0.
* Please note there is no private rooms or room upgrades on this tour. All rooms are shared between 3-5 people. We can offer same gender room options and keep groups traveling together in the same room and vehicle when available.
* You must be 21 years+ and hold a full driver's license to drive the 4WD on the tour, this will be shared with other drivers. 2+ years driving experience required.
* Driving is optional; you can choose to come along as a passenger
* No off-road driving experience is necessary
* All vehicles are carbon offset, and the activity is run by an eco-certified tourism operator
