What to Expect on Your Perfect Day
1. Visit Beerenberg Farm (30 Minutes), a fifth-generation family farm on the edge of Hahndorf. You'll have time to browse the farm shop and taste their range of jams, chutneys and sauces. Strawberry picking is a seasonal activity at Beerenberg, running from November to April, and is available at an additional cost paid directly to the farm. Outside these months the farm shop and tastings run as normal.
2. Explore the Historic Charm of Hahndorf (1 Hour 30 Minutes) Arriving in Australia’s oldest German settlement, you’ll step into a storybook village. Stroll through 19th-century streets lined with quaint boutiques, artisan craft shops, and authentic German bakeries. It’s the perfect time to grab a traditional coffee or browse handmade South Australian treasures.
3. Sweet Traditions at Melba’s Chocolate Factory (10 Minutes) Visit the historic Melba’s Chocolate Factory in the Adelaide Hills. Watch traditional sweets and chocolates being handcrafted using heritage machinery and old-fashioned methods. This nostalgic stop offers a unique glimpse into the region's confectionery history.
4. Boutique Wine Tasting & Gourmet Vineyard Lunch (75 Minutes) We journey into the heart of the Barossa Valley to Kies Family Wines.
