Witness magnificent views from the top of kunanyi/Mt Wellington - glimpse the unfolding panorama of the vast waterways of the Derwent River, Hobart and surrounding suburbs. On a clear day, you can see for miles! Enjoy the escorted tour of the Observatory and short walks at the Springs and Western Wilderness Lookout.
Next, we visit Richmond, one of Australia’s most unique and historic towns dating from the 1820s. You will have time to explore in Richmond. You might like to see the oldest convict-built road bridge in Australia, the historic gaol, convict-built homes, classic Georgian mansions, and small cottages, many unique shops, galleries and restaurants. Enjoy browsing the many shops and galleries for unique gifts or souvenirs. Perhaps taste some local products from one of the many cafes or restaurants.
Complete your afternoon with a visit to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, offering close-up experiences of native Australian animals, including Tasmanian devils. Take a guided tour of the sanctuary and learn about the habits of Australia's native animals such as quolls, wombats, sugar gliders, cockatoos, echidnas, wallabies and more. Hand-feed the animals that roam free. You will have great photo opportunities on this fun-filled tour. The tour returns to Brooke St Pier at 5.30pm.
