Description
Most people come to Cairns for the reef. Then they find the rainforest. And then they find this.
The Giant Swing at Skypark Cairns launches 1, 2 or 3 people simultaneously through the World Heritage rainforest canopy at speeds of up to 120km/h, dropping from 45 metres to just one metre above the ground in 3.5 seconds. It is the only multi-person Giant Swing in Australia, and there is nothing else in Queensland that delivers quite this combination of speed, height, and shared adrenaline.
Unlike the Bungy Jump, the Giant Swing is something you can do with people you love. Couples, friends, parents and older kids - the harness system accommodates groups of up to three, and the experience of screaming through the treetops together is something most groups talk about for the rest of the trip.
What to Expect
After checking in at Skypark, your instructor fits your harness and walks you through the release process. You'll be winched up to the launch height with your group, with the rainforest canopy stretching out below you and the Cairns hinterland visible in every direction. When you're ready, you release. The swing drops and accelerates to 120km/h almost instantly, arcing through the trees before slowing to a gentle sway above the forest floor.
The whole ride lasts around 60 seconds. The sensation lasts considerably longer.

Good to Know
Minimum solo weight 55kg, maximum 150kg per person. Not suitable for pregnant women or people with vertigo or epilepsy. Suitable for ages 10 and up. Operates rain or shine.

- The minimum permitted weight for a solo Swing is 55 kilograms. Participants over 25kg can participate as part of a tandem or triple Swing
- There is a maximum individual weight limit of 150 kilograms
- The maximum combined weight (2 or 3 persons) is 200 kilograms
- Those under 18 years old require a parent/guardian to co-sign a waiver form
- Please inform the local supplier of any of the following medical conditions: high blood pressure, heart conditions, diabetes, pregnancy, epilepsy, dislocations, neurological disorders or vertigo. Please note that this list is not exhaustive
