Goosies Sport & Recreation Club

Goosies Sport & Recreation Club is a North Mackay venue beside the Gooseponds, combining dining, drinks, bowls, gaming and event facilities in one community-focused setting. The club suits casual meals, social visits, recreational activities and larger functions, with a range of spaces designed for different occasions.

Dining is centred on a bistro and Ponz Café, supported by a bar and sports bar. The offering suits visitors looking for a straightforward club meal, a café stop or a drink in a relaxed recreation-club environment. Gaming facilities include a dedicated lounge with gaming machines and Keno, adding another option for adult visitors.

Bowls remains an important part of the venue. Two undercover carpeted bowling greens provide facilities for club members, social bowlers and organised bowling activities. The venue also maintains a sporting and recreational character, making it suitable for groups combining food, drinks and club-based entertainment.

Goosies includes two function rooms for private events and group occasions. The Amaroo Function Room accommodates up to 280 people, while The Den Function Room accommodates up to 80. These spaces give the venue capacity for both larger gatherings and more contained events, subject to the arrangement selected with the club.

A kids play area adds a family-oriented facility, while the bar, café, bistro, bowls greens and gaming lounge create distinct areas for different types of visits. The setting beside the Gooseponds gives the club a clear connection to North Mackay’s local recreation landscape.

Located on Malcomson Street, Goosies is a practical choice for residents and visitors exploring the wider Whitsundays region who are seeking a club venue rather than a specialist restaurant. It works for casual dining, social groups, bowls participants, event guests and families using the available facilities. The venue can also be considered for community gatherings, celebrations and functions that require dedicated room capacity.
