Airlie Gardens, one of Wilmington’s most beloved and iconic attractions, is a true feast for the senses and an absolute must-see. Spanning 67 magnificent acres, this botanical paradise boasts meticulously curated formal gardens, thriving wildlife, historic structures, ten acres of tranquil lakes, over 100,000 blooming azaleas, a seasonal butterfly house, and the awe-inspiring Airlie Oak—a 468-year-old living testament to nature’s grandeur. On this self-guided tour, you’ll enjoy a picturesque ride through Wilmington’s highlights before spending up to an hour exploring the gardens. Meander along the serene trails or opt for a tram ride to immerse yourself in the ever-changing tapestry of natural beauty. Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at our meeting point, where we’ll equip you with a state-of-the-art e-bike, helmet, and cell phone holder. Following a brief safety and training session to ensure all riders are confident, you’ll set off on a journey that seamlessly blends exploration and tranquility. The scenic route takes you through downtown Wilmington and along the renowned River to Sea Bikeway. This dedicated bike path offers a serene escape, with winding stretches framed by lush greenery and breathtaking natural vistas. Along the way, you’ll encounter countless photo-worthy moments, leaving you with cherished memories of this captivating experience. On your way back, stop by Flying Machine Brewing Company for a cold one as reward. Your tour package includes everything you need for a seamless adventure: an e-bike rental, helmet, small basket for personal belongings, a cell phone holder, and a provided route to navigate your way to Airlie Gardens while uncovering Wilmington’s most remarkable sights. We recommend packing a bag or bringing a lunch to enjoy while exploring the gardens. Please arrive 20 minutes before the tour starts to ensure a smooth experience. Our tours are all about fun and enjoyment, focusing on the joy of riding e-bikes while soaking in Wilmington’s vibrant atmosphere. All self-guided tours require a refundable security deposit of $100 per rider. To add a guide to this tour, the cost is $20 per person.

• Not recommended for travelers with back problems.
• Not recommended for travelers with heart problems or other serious medical conditions.
• Not recommended for pregnant travelers.
• Not recommended for travelers with a low level of physical fitness.
• Not recommended for travelers under 5'0' tall.
• Not recommended for travelers who have not ridden a bicycle within the last seven years. We cannot give refunds for riders who arrive and cannot ride their e-bike.
• Due to the high performance of our e-bikes, we have a weight limits for each. Maximum weight for the larger e-bikes is 260 lbs. and maximum weight for the smaller e-bikes ranges between 220 lbs. and 240 lbs.
